The Witcher Series First Reactions: “Makes ‘Game Of Thrones’ Look Like Two Drunks Fighting”

The Witcher

With Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher series just a few weeks away from being released, fans are more excited than ever to finally dig in to the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer, and Ciri. It appears now that the show’s been well worth the wait, as first reactions have painted it in an incredibly favorable light, even going as far as to put down Game of Thrones in the process.

Some lucky folks were able to get themselves into early screenings for Netflix’s The Witcher series, and it appears at first glance that many of the initial concerns regarding the show were unwarranted. One user wrote that they were a “huge fan of the books,” and as such they were worried, “but @LHissrich has done a masterful job telling the story. It also helps that the cast is amazing! And Henry Cavill, just … wow. #TheWitcher”.”

Others compared The Witcher to Game of Thrones. “Oh I will say this,” another person began, “The fight scenes in The Witcher make Game of Thrones fight scenes look like two drunks fighting outside a bar.” Here’s another equally Thrones-damning Twitter post:

I’ll admit, I saved the most promising first reactions for last. One viewer responded directly to a Tweet from showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, congratulating her on a job well done.

So, excited for The Witcher yet? We’ll finally get our hands on the first season on December 20, 2019. Thoughts on the first reactions for the show?
