Creators of the Netflix Original Series Stranger Things Confirm a Third Season

Yes, you heard that right. Creators of the Netflix Original series Stranger Things have confirmed that a third season. Though the second season of this supernatural thriller isn’t set to premier until October, plans are already in motion as to what Matt and Ross Duffer has in mind for the kids beyond the third season. That means the young and courageous characters will have to “get the f*ck out of this town” and, by that time, may mean the gang will be well on their way to college. Time sure flies when you’re trying not to die. According to an interview with The Vulture, the brothers are thinking bigger and better for the upcoming premiere this October:

We wanted to push things a bit. I told Matt, ‘I don’t want to call it season two, I just want it to feel like a movie sequel.’ If you have a successful movie, No. 2 is always a little bit bigger. We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out.”

While that may seem ambitious, seeing as the premise relies on death and the escape from the Upside Down World, Matt relays that they will have to adapt the storyline. “We just have to keep adjusting the story,” said Matt. “Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to [the kids] once a year.”
