Summer is nearly in full swing and while the heating season is still quite a bit hampered by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Netflix looks to have plenty to keep those stayed at home entertained for the foreseeable future. “How,” you ask? The newly-announced movie and TV selections for Netflix June pretty much speak for themselves, adding such anticipated and fan-favorite content as the new Pokémon Journeys anime series, the Mads Mikkelsen-led Hannibal TV series, and the classic Spielberg film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

As has become the case as of late, Netflix June selections revolve around the debut of Original programming, with the likes of Queer Eye, Fuller House, and 13 Reasons Why getting new seasons – the latter two marking their final episodes on the service. Alternatively, there looks to be no shortage of third-party arrivals like the 90s Casper film, Starship Troopers, as well as the latest seasons of CW shows Legends of Tomorrow and Roswell New Mexico. Netflix June also sees quite a few anime debuts such as One Piece, Cardcaptor Sakura, BNA, as well as new episodes of stylish martial arts series Baki.

While there’s a pretty cool selection of titles on the horizon, Netflix June looks to have a pretty sizeable list of departures planned as well. Avengers: Infinity War and Disney’s Tarzan films are on the way out (presumably for Disney+), The Matrix movies are logging off for the time being, and the Mad Men’s long stint on the streaming service is coming to a close. On the plus side, most departing titles are being saved for the end of the month, leaving plenty of time for watchers to properly check them out before they disappear.

News has been comparatively light in recent weeks due to the platform’s ongoing production shutdowns, though that hasn’t stopped a number of welcome developments from slipping through the cracks. Beloved Nickelodeon animation Avatar the Last Airbender was recently added to Netflix and the upcoming Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy received a fittingly quirky new trailer.
