Spider-Man Star Actor Teases Role In Uncharted Live Action Movie

Although the script for the Uncharted live action movie was completed earlier this year, there has been quite a few directional changes as to where the film was headed. Instead of an adult version of the heroic protagonist, director Shawn Levy opted to move forward with a younger actor instead. That’s where Spider-Man star, Tom Holland, steps in.

In May, it was revealed that Holland signed on to take up the role for this critically-acclaimed series turned film, but nothing seemed official. In fact, Sony has yet to make any announcement since public discovery. So, does that mean the production studio isn’t quite set on who is to play the famed Nathan Drake? Perhaps not.

On an Instagram post, Holland revealed a video clip of himself playing Uncharted: The Collection with a not-so-subtle nod at Naughty Dog’s famous franchise captioning the experience with “For research purpose.” So, wouldn’t it be logical to surmise that the Spider-Man star has completely been indoctrinated as the main actor for the Uncharted live action movie?

Shortly after the Instagram video was revealed, Holland took it down without further notice. Likely as a safety net for legal reasons, or due to the fact that such a reveal would be deemed premature since nothing is quite official.

There are various factors to consider as well. Having an entire video game franchise’s film adaptation based around one actor is a tough decision to make even with a rising Hollywood star. Furthermore, Holland’s career is hot since he’s currently filming the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, and separately for Avengers: Infinity War.
