Bandai Namco’s Code Vein Releases a New Story Trailer (VIDEO)

Code Vein is an upcoming Japanese RPG that’s on the higher end of anticipation. For the time being, Nier: Automata is taking up the spotlight, but gamers who look forward to a greater challenge may find themselves obsessing over the gameplay and story of this bloodthirsty plot – literally and figuratively. In a brand new story trailer released during the Tokyo Game Show this year, inquisitive minds get a feel for the main character’s story waiting to be unfold, and a taste of some sweet gameplay footage. Check Shift and Bandai Namco’s Code Vein story trailer below:

Aside from the vampire charm and unending thirst for “blood beads”, the main character that players get to control is taken advantage of early on. Despite being educated by a more mature Revenant who is obviously worn by his years and cumulative experience, Bandai Namco’s Code Vein story trailer reveals the root of everyone’s problem. In order to survive, Revenants must feed off of blood beads. However, it seems as though a mysterious Queen is funneling all those resources, making it scarce for others. In order to seek out her lair, the protagonist must carve through various enemy bosses and minions.

The story trailer also hands over a sneak peek at the Queen, the new white-haired character, and even more challenging combat is featured. In fact, if it looks difficult, it’s supposed to be. Bandai stated that the intent was meant as such and the only way to progress through the story is to take enemies as they come. If need be, find a different strategy or tactic. Want an easy mode? Unfortunately, no can do. There will also be oversized bosses galore.

Those whose struggles continue after death…fighting to reveal an unknown destiny. Salvation or destruction? In the face of certain death, we rise.”

Shift (God Eater) and Bandai Namco’s Code Vein is looking at a release slated for early 2018, and that could mean anywhere between January through April. Already stoked to become a Revenant?
