Mortal Kombat 11 Mod Adds Playable Kronika, Cyrax, and Sektor (VIDEO)

Now that Mortal Kombat 11 has finally released, gamers are now free to explore the full extent of what the anticipated fighting game has to offer. While the game hasn’t been pleasing for some, the large majority of fans have instead praised the new NetherRealm title for its top-notch gameplay and solid character roster. Even with a packed roster of over 20 fighters, there’s still a few that weren’t made available in a playable capacity; namely Kronika, Cyrax, and Sector.

While this trio of kombatants is normally relegated to single-player modes, a new mod has now brought an array of NPCs into the game for the first time. Created by modder Lord Dragu, a new mod dubbed the “Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Mod” makes unplayable fighters such a Cyrax, Sektor, and Kronika a possibility, including a range of basic moves and Fatalities at players’ disposal. Check out each character in action in the video below.

As one might suspect, these modded characters aren’t exactly the most well-balanced of the lot, with Kronika’s mastery of time providing an especially dominating presence in battle. Not only are the villainess’ moves much more powerful than any one fighter, but Dragu confirms its also virtually impossible to land a Fatal Blow attack on her, painting a pretty clear picture as to why Kronika isn’t an official part of the roster— at least not yet.

Perhaps a future mod will give these characters more balanced movesets, but for now, it’s likely they’ll exist more as novelty fun rather than for legitimately competitive brawls. As for NetherRealm themselves, it’s possible that Kronika, Cyrax and Sektor could become officially playable sometime down the line, but that kind of content might a while off. The dev team are currently occupied with rolling out launch fixes as well as preparing the game’s upcoming DLC.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Those interested in trying out the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Mod can do so via the MKSecrets website.
