Mortal Kombat 11 Teases Potential Mileena Return (VIDEO)

Though the entire DLC roster has been announced for months at this point, fans nonetheless continue to look for clues of secret character introductions for Mortal Kombat 11. Additions in the like of Ash from Evil Dead and MK character Fujin have been the subject of hot speculation as of late, but the series’ fierce pink-colored ninja Mileena has undoubtedly remained the most requested roster member still not available in the game.

In a post to Twitter, NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon posted a video celebrating the upcoming release of Sindel, depicting an interaction between her and insectine fighter D’Vorah. We see the scream queen isn’t exactly happy with her opponent, referencing Mortal Kombat X when Sindel’s daughter Mileena was horrifically killed at the hands of D’Vorah. Considering the passionate Mileena fanbase, this blatant name-drop by Boon as well as the official Mortal Kombat account appears to hint at a Mileena return in Mortal Kombat 11, possibly as part of the speculated next Kombat Pack 2 DLC.

In a game filled with undead Revenants and time-travel duplicates, Mileena making her miraculous return in MK11 wouldn’t exactly be the biggest of leaps. However, considering NetherRealm’s past with trolling fans, the chances remain admittedly slim and likely should be taken with a pinch of salt. Though, if this is a proper tease, fans will have a while before it comes to fruition, especially as the current Kombat Pack isn’t set to conclude until Spawn’s arrival well into 2020. Until all is “konfirmed,” Mileena’s only modern availability lies with Mortal Kombat Mobile–which is still better than nothing, all things considered.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What do you think? Could Mileena finally be getting her due in Mortal Kombat 11, or do you feel this is just yet another case of Ed Boon trolling?
