Much of the fighting game scene in 2019 has been highlighted by Mortal Kombat 11, with its celebration of the series’ past, as well as making steps towards its future. While the game released back in April, the game has been able to attract attention with its DLC characters, including crossover characters like The Joker and The Terminator. However, some of the hype for these characters was somewhat reduced thanks to their being leaked by dataminers long before their release. Now, NetherRealm has decided to troll Mortal Kombat 11 fans in a new video that contains a reference to these leaks with a Kombat Pack 2 easter egg.

YouTube user Shirokelly recently uploaded a compilation of all of the Terminator’s outro victory sequences for each Mortal Kombat fighter. The sequences all show the first person perspective from the Terminator’s point of view, similar to how his character’s vision is seen in the film series. The screens mostly show quick scans on the attributes of the deceased opponents, with quick flashes to a screen titled”Data Mine In Progress.”

This is in clear reference to the data mined earlier this year that revealed the DLC fighters released as the Kombat Pack. This Easter egg screen shows the list of several Mortal Kombat fighters from previous games, implying that they would be part of a second Kombat Pack to be released at a later time.

While it does contain some beloved characters that fans have wanted in MK 11 like Mileena and Li Mei, the video also references some of the more humorous characters like Meat and Mokap. This would seem to imply that this screen is a tongue-in-cheek Easter egg meant to poke fun at fans looking for more hints at future characters. While a bit of a goof, it is nonetheless another way in which Mortal Kombat 11 pays tribute to its storied franchise and passionate fans.
