Mortal Kombat 11 Director Hilariously Responds to Roster Leaks (VIDEO)

Mortal Kombat 11 Director Hilariously Responds to Roster Leaks (VIDEO)

NetherRealm Studios’ eleventh mainline outing Mortal Kombat 11 is a strong focus of fan fervor as of late, the game looking to featuring no shortage of engrossing gameplay and straight-up gross fatalities. Another way the title is keeping hype alive is though periodic character reveals, this last week adding the likes of Kabal and D’Vorah to the roster.

However, it appears that these plans may have prematurely spoiled with the surface of recent leaks, seemingly confirming the presence of several unconfirmed fighters. While NetherRealm themselves has yet to comment on the matter, the studio’s Creative Director Ed Boon has now addressed these potential reveals, albeit indirectly, via social media.

Based on his above Twitter post, it doesn’t appear Boon is particularly keen on the leaks. However, considering his reputation for playfully trolling fans, it’s possible the opposite could be true and this could be another instance of Boon being Boon. What wasn’t as ambiguous was the director’s follow-up post, which jokingly premised Blanche from Mortal Kombat X as the game’s next “leaked” fighter.

For those who may not be aware, Blanche is an infamous background character from MKX, specifically from the Outworld Marketplace stage. The seemingly innocuous passerby gained notoriety for her part in an interactive stage Brutality, where through proper maneuvering, a player would toss the woman at an approaching opponent. A particularly glorious variation of this move sees Blanche participate in the Kombat, proving she’s just as able to throw hands with the rest of the roster.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 23rd.

What do you think? Do you feel the leaks have spoiled the game’s potential roster reveals?
