Mobile Game Titanfall: Frontline Being Shut Down During Beta

The team at Particle City have announced via the Titanfall: Frontline Facebook page that they will be shutting down the game down. It appears that although the team got good experience developing for the mobile marketplace, it wasn’t quite ready to live up to the franchise.

The game was in a closed beta launch at the time, but it appears that there were too many deficiencieses in the game to correct and bring it to the iOS and Android. The theme of the game was that it was a card battle video game. The developing team was Particle City who is sister companies with Respawn Entertainment, who developed Titanfall and Titanfall 2. The game was to be published by Nexon.

Titanfall: Frontline

Fans can expect that the team at Respawn will attempt another mobile game in the future, “we’re excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games”.  Hopefully, their partnership with developers Nexon will bring as much success as the sequel Titanfall 2 has for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. Titanfall 2 was nominated for numerous awards at this year’s video game awards, including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Action Game, and Best Multiplayer.

What’s your thoughts on the cancellation of Titanfall: Frontline? Is this expected, or were you let down by this news. Let us know in the comment section below!
