Live Fire Game Mode Brings Lightning Fast Action to Titanfall 2 Multiplayer

Live Fire

With the technology of a new generation of gaming consoles at its disposal, Titanfall revolutionized the first person shooter (FPS) experience in a way that added much more dimension than anything we had seen before. Just over 2 years following the release of Titanfall, Titanfall 2 revamped that experience and gave players a depth of story not previously seen. Titanfall 2 is a beautifully created game that keeps the amazing and unique feel of the multiplayer aspect while adding a fantastically crafted single player experience. Respawn Entertainment announced a new multiplayer game mode to even further advance the Titanfall 2 experience, Live Fire.

Live Fire comes in with the next update for Titanfall 2 and is quite different than anything we’ve seen in Titanfall games to date. Live Fire pits two teams of 6 pilots against each other in a fast paced close quarters arena with a time limit of only 60 seconds per round.

In our next content drop coming soon, we’ll be introducing a brand-new mode called Live Fire: a lightning fast 6v6 Pilot only mode that brings competitive, close quarter combat to the forefront. A round-based best of 5 mode with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends.  It’s fast, frantic, and sure to help hone those teamwork and mobility skills.

Live Fire also bring to the game two new dedicated maps titled Stacks and Meadow, which are described as “tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the mode.” With all the action being packed into the new game mode, it sounds a bit like a high intensity meat grinder, but remember no respawns until the next round! As exciting as Live Fire sounds, it is not the only new content being added with the next update.

In addition to the Live Fire game mode and it’s dedicated maps, the Coliseum mode will also be receiving a new map titled ‘Columns.’ There will also be a new pilot execution animation added to the game as well as new highlight intros for faction commanders. And to top it all off, the multiplayer interface is getting an overhaul to make finding the game modes that you want to play more customizable.

Our goal is to allow players to create their own ‘mixtapes’ and choose which modes they want to be matched in. Would you like to match in just Attrition, Amped Hardpoint, and Last Titan Standing? Simply select the modes you want and hit play.

Respawn has a lot in store for the future of maintaining a top quality gaming experience for Titanfall 2. There is a lot more to come and over the next few months we’ll be sure to see “more maps, weapons, modes, and more [including remasters of more maps from Titanfall].”

What do you guys think of the new game mode? As always we’d love to hear your input as well as your thoughts on the other changes to come.
