Minecraft Steve, Alex DLC Revealed For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (VIDEO)

Minecraft Steve Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Bringing together heroes from across many avenues of gaming, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has proven itself to be the crossover to end all crossovers. With well-known staples like Banjo-Kazooie, Metal Gear’s Snake, and Persona 5’s Joker duking it out alongside a roster of Big N’s most beloved characters, it’s not difficult to see why. Following the big reveal of both a Fallout and an ARMS crossover back in June, it appears the next DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has now been revealed: Minecraft Steve.

As shown in the trailer below, Minecraft’s blocky default character is confirmed to be coming to Super Shamsh Bros Ultimate, complete with alternate skins for female default Alex as well as Zombie and Enderman mobs. Of course, the DLC also comes with quite a bit in terms of add-ons such as a crafting table, diamond sword weapons, as well as a new stage based on the blocky biomes from the original game. The character’s Smash attack is a particularly hilarious sight to behold, throwing an opponent into a cave filled with TNT and Creepers to meet their explosive demise.

With the addition of Minecraft Steve, there now only exists four more fighters in Volume 2 of the game’s Fighters Pass, which has so far only yielded ARMS character Min Min and today’s revealed champion. Game Director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed on several occasions that this will be the last batch of characters added to the game, making this final stretch an especially exciting one. While the DLC currently has no release date, Minecraft Steve is currently the second fighter to be added from the Microsoft’s Xbox family, the first being Banjo-Kazooie just last year.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Nintendo Switch.
