Milla Jovovich Wants to Play Cheetara in a ThunderCats Movie (VIDEO)

ThunderCats

With the coming of Resident Evil’ final film installment January 27th, the Hollywood stars are abuzz with news of the leading lady’s role in the action-packed flick. Milla Jovovich, a veteran action star in the long-running monster franchise, has definitely made a name for herself as one kick-ass woman, offering up acrobatic stunts and thrills as she slaughters her way through hordes of infected monsters. But now, as the film’s series draws to a close, it’s time to wonder exactly what may be in store for her now that her go-to series will no longer be making films. Perhaps she’ll jump right into another fantastic action-based film series? Perhaps… a possible role in a ThunderCats film?

For a few years now, rumors of a live-action ThunderCats film being created have made the rounds in Hollywood, sparking interest from many parties. It was even rumored that Michael Bay may be in the running to direct the film, as noted by KpopStarz back in 2015. Since then, the rumors have continued to churn out, but no real announcement has been made to the effect of a definitive answer to fan questions. Will we, or will we not get a ThunderCats movie? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, it’s fun to daydream about the possibilities, and it seems that even high-paying actors are wondering if they’ll have their shot at fulfilling the need to bring this 80’s classic to life. Jovovich herself admitted that she would be very interested in being cast in a ThunderCats movie. In an interview with We Got This Covered, Jovovich admitted that she would love to play the film’s leading lady and on-again-off-again love interest of Lion-O, Cheetara. “I’ve always loved Thundercats. I heard they were making a movie, and then they weren’t making a movie. And I’m probably getting way to old to play Katra… no, Cheetara, that’s the one!”

Warner Bros. owns the rights to ThunderCats, but even with the pressing matter of so many fans interested in seeing the film brought to life, there still has been no movement on the studio’s part to make it. However, the longer people talk about it, the more likely it is that it will receive attention from creative directors and possibly face the light of day in theaters. Just take a look at Deadpool and how well fan hype helped to create one of the greatest box office hits of 2016!

Who knows at this point? Will we ever get to see a ThunderCats movie in theaters? Do you think  Milla Jovovich would be a great candidate for Cheetara’s part? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
