It’s official, guys and gals! The sequel to the incredible Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming this August, and we are stoked about it! We first got word about the game’s possible release, through a leak posted on Twitter by Wario64. This leaked post promised some great content for gamers, including a Gold edition for $99 dollars, stocked full of great content, though without an official confirmation from game developers, we were left a little skeptical.

Today, the rumored release of this incredible looking sequel has been confirmed, with an announcement trailer that’s just as gorgeous and terrifying as we expect out of this game series. Check out the trailer below!

The trailer shows the return of Talion and Celebrimbor, as they infiltrate the forces of Mordor to stop the Great Deceiver, Lord Sauron, and his forces of evil against the Free Peoples of Middle Earth. The cinematic trailer is absolutely brilliant, and shows off a deeper, more emotional journey to stop the Shadow of Evil from taking over the land, while hinting at the upcoming woven tale of deceit, loyalty and revenge. It’s also been revealed that the Nemesis system will also be applied to the entire world this time, making the previous game’s use of decision-making impact not just yourself as the player, but the entire world around you. So no pressure on saving the Free Peoples, yeah?

The announcement trailer came with a press release from Warner Bros. Interactive, and delves a little deeper into what gamers can expect to find out of this fearsome new title. “Monolith Productions continues to innovate by introducing deeper, more personalized gameplay experiences, coupled with authentic storytelling,” said David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Middle-earth: Shadow of War truly drives the genre forward by taking the Nemesis System to new heights and allowing players to create their own personal journey within Middle-earth.”

The official website also reveals that there will not be two editions of Middle Earth: Shadow of War, but four: Standard, Silver, Gold, and Mithril edition, all of which you can preorder here. The Mithril edition is definitely where the magic lies, as the fantastic collector’s edition includes Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion, Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion, The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion, The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion, Limited Edition 15” Tar-Goroth Balrog vs. Carnan Drake Statue, Collection of Exclusive Lithographs, Premium Case with Magnetic Ring of Power, Exclusive Steelcase, Official Game Music Soundtrack, Cloth Map of Mordor, Tribes Sticker Pack, Gold War Chest, and  the Exclusive Mithril War Chest.
