Metal Gear Solid Reportedly Getting A Next-Gen Exclusive Remake

For many years, fans of the original Metal Gear Solid have been pining for a true remake of the classic title, with both Twin Snakes and MGS4’s visit to Shadow Moses Island only serving to stoke that particular flame. With the release of the latest next-gen consoles on the horizon, it’s been revealed that Metal Gear Solid may be getting a remake for PC and as a next-gen console exclusive..

The info comes by way of the folks over at Gamesradar, which reported that YouTube channel RedGamingTech has a source that revealed that Metal Gear Solid will be getting a full remake rather than simply a remaster. The source also claims that the title will release both on PC and as a console exclusive for the PlayStation 5.

The source goes even further, claiming that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 will also be receiving HD remasters. As such, it won’t receive nearly as much development attention as the original game, though that’s also because those three titles look a lot better than the PS1 game. While there’s no actual evidence that a Metal Gear Solid Remake is in the works, there’s at least a little bit of credibility to be found in the fact that Sony is continuing to gobble up timed exclusives for the PlayStation 5.
