Mark Hamill Could Play MCU’s Doctor Octopus

While he’s mostly known for playing one of the most iconic protagonists in film history in Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill is no stranger to playing the villain.  From his iconic turn as the voice of The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series and his recurring appearances on The Flash as The Trickster, Comic Book fans have adored Mark Hamill’s adaptions of some of the most devious bad guys in history.

And now it sounds like he’s open to bringing one of Spider-Man’s most well-known adversaries to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Doctor Octopus.  A suggestion on Twitter made by writer Anthony King really had a lot of people agreeing that it’d be a fantastic idea for Hamill to take on the role of Otto Octavius. Hamill himself even agrees!

While this tweet was made some time ago it does bear relevance considering all the recent news about Spider-Man: Far From Home, the much-anticipated sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Jake Gyllenhall will be taking on the fishbowl dome of Mysterio, Master of Illusion, but what about villains for subsequent movies? It’s pretty well known that most Marvel villains don’t make it out of the same movie they’re introduced in, save for a few exceptions. Perhaps a certain octo-ped mad scientist can fill the void for the next Spidey film?

The role was famously taken on by Alfred Molina in the landmark superhero film Spider-Man 2, and Octavius has a prominent place in the recently released Marvel’s Spider-Man video game.  It seems like the right time for a new Doc Ock to terrorize the MCU.  Maybe even take a page from the game and movie with him being a  mentor of sorts to Peter? Like a professor at Peter’s College?

I need a Spider-Man in college film, like right now.  But I might have to wait quite a while.  Are you interested in seeing Mark Hamill be Doctor Octopus?  Let us know on Twitter and be sure to check out these other cool stories from Don’t Feed The Gamers:
