Just hours ago, it was reported that gunshots had been fired during a Madden NFL 19 eSports tournament in Jacksonville, Florida. The tournament was being held at the GLHF Game Bar located on the Jacksonville Landing. With authorities now at the scene, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Twitter account is being used as the primary source of communication for those seeking information regarding the Jacksonville shooting.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported that there are “multiple fatalities” at the scene, which includes one of the alleged suspects in the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office confirms that there are no other outstanding subjects, and the Landing is now safe. According to the Sheriff, three people were fatally shot, and 11 total, during the incident. Those injured during the shooting are reportedly at multiple hospitals being treated.

According to gamer Steven “Steveyj” Javaruski, one of the competitors at the event, the suspect in question had been competing in the Madden NFL 19 tournament and lost. The suspect then exited the area for a short time before returning and opening fire, and that he “targeted a few people” and shot at least five people before killing himself.
