Go Behind the Scenes in Madden 18’s Longshot, the “Playable Movie” (VIDEO)
Showcased at E3, Madden 18‘s Longshot story mode has been promising a cinematic experience unlike any other the franchise has attempted before. Longshot puts players in the shoes of former high school star quarterback Devin Wade as he reaches toward the dream a second time. The title is promising to be a playable movie that players can enjoy as they step into more of an RPG role for a sports game.
EA Sports has released a “Making Of” video that takes fans behind the scenes of Madden 18‘s Longshot. Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali and Hall of Fame NFL player Dan Marino discuss the making of the game along with the creators themselves. From what they show, players will be taking on a unique experience this time around. Check it out in the video below:
Also among the cast is JR Lemon as the lead, with Scott Porter as the best friend. Players will have dialogue options and choices to make that will decide the way the game turns out. Ultimately, Madden 18‘s Longshot is offering the kind of narrative cinematic gameplay that will put them in the driver seat of this playable film.
The first 10 hours of the standard game are available right now for anyone with EA Access on Xbox One. The first chapter of Madden 18‘s Longshot is also playable for those who have the service through Microsoft’s console. The G.O.A.T. Edition of the game will be available August 22nd to players while the official release won’t be arriving until August 25th.
