Life Is Strange 2 Dev Open To A Sequel, Says It's A "Square Enix Decision"

As 2019 is winding down, gamers are looking back at all the big experiences that happened throughout the year. One game that continued to be present throughout 2019 was Life Is Strange 2, with episode 2 of the series premiering back in January, and the final episode releasing earlier this month. The series continued the nuanced storytelling that has become standard with games developed by Dontnod Entertainment. However, many have been wondering if a third entry in the core series is going to see the light of day. Well, now Dontnod has weighed in on the possibility of Life Is Strange 3.

Gamespot recently released an interview they conducted with Dontnod Entertainment’s Michel Koch and Jean-Luc Cano about the recently finished Life Is Strange season 2. On the topic of the series’ future, Cano suggested that if a Life Is Strange 3 were to happen, which Dontnod would be very much open to, it would be a completely new story with new characters. Koch further elaborated on this by saying:

That’s what I think we would personally like to do, of course Life is Strange is owned by Square Enix so it’s a Square Enix decision. But to us as creators, we really enjoy this anthology format, and it’s really interesting for us to try to think about brand new characters and brand new stories.”

Koch and Cano also stated that Dontnod would love to bring the Life Is Strange games to the Nintendo Switch, but that again, it would be Square Enix’s decision to allow that to happen. The Life Is Strange games have been enjoyed by many so far, and it would be a shame for Dontnod to not be allowed back to that franchise. Perhaps maybe that announcement would be made very soon. I mean, Life is indeed very Strange, after all.
