Layers Of Fear 2 Release Date Finally Revealed, New Details (VIDEO)
Having survived the horrors of a madman painter in Layers of Fear, fans will soon be able to step into the role of the next iteration in the franchise. It was recently revealed that the upcoming sequel for the psychological horror title, Layers of Fear 2, now has a release date – and as an added bonus the game may be arriving sooner than fans might expect!
A recent press release revealed that the game will become available on May 28th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders for the title will go live within the coming weeks, though there was no mention of what the price of layers of Fear 2 would be at this time.
For those who might be interested in delving into the madness, Layers of Fear 2 will allow players to step into the shoes of an actor who joins up with an enigmatic director to take on a lead role shot aboard an ocean liner. While the first game saw an artist trapped in a self-destructive cycle of insanity and despair, the sequel will explore why the protagonist became an actor in the first place. What dark tale will unfold when the game releases next month?
According to the game’s official listing on Steam, “The cameras are all focused on you; the center of the scene. Not just in character, you are the character. The part to play is singularly yours. Written just for you.You are met with silence. No barking orders from the director. No call to action that you need to become this version of yourself. The demand to act fills your mind, but the script pages hold no words.
Your past has helped to mold you into what you are, forced upon you the skills required to hone your craft. That same past has scraped deep furrowing scars into you, not on the outside where the world can see, but in a place buried so deep within that it has become shapeless. You push those memories down but let the experiences drive you into who, or what, you must play.”
Other features of the game include:
- Story-driven exploration – You must explore the world around you. Discover your past, and expose the reason for your having been cast for this film.
- Psychological horror – Is this part of the film, or are your memories playing tricks on you? Your world may change with the slightest of provocations, you must decide what is real.
- Ocean Liner setting – Your explorations into the depths of the ship that play the scenes for the film become ever more incredible, and ever more terrifying.
- Classical, ominous soundtrack – An original score composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski, conducted by George Strezov, and performed by the Sofia Session Orchestra
The upcoming horror title will be once again developed by Blooper Team and published by Gun Media. Layers of Fear 2 will also feature the talents of horror icon Tony Todd who fans may know from his portrayal as the titular character of Candyman.
