Lara Croft Statue Revealed Just In Time For Shadow Of The Tomb Raider

Lara Croft Statue

Next month, Lara Croft fans will be reunited with the heroine in her latest adventure, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The sequel will be the culmination of this new iteration of the character brought forth by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix that had=s been praised for further developing Lara and her motivations for her actions. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has promised to deliver more of the survival challenges that the new games have delivered so far. Now, a new highly-detailed Lara Croft statue has been unveiled, just in time for Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s release:

Weta Workshop has listed the new Lara Croft statue on their official website. The statue will be the first of several new Weta offerings that depicts Lara as she will appear in Shadow of The a Tomb Raider. Lara is recreated as a 1:4 scale polystone figure, depicted in the Amazon jungles, as a jaguar watches in an overhead tree. The inclusion of the jaguar seems to have been a deep, meaningful choice by designer Daniel Falconer, as he says:

The imminent showdown with the jaguar catches Lara unaware. She is struck with the epiphany that she must become like the jaguar to stay alive. With stealth, Lara must stalk through the undergrowth, attack abruptly then disappear like the predator.”

The statue is highly detailed, down to all of Lara’s iconic gear and weapons. However, this treasure comes at a steep cost, with a listing price of $799. Also, there will only be 750 statues crafted, so those hoping to raid this artifact would be advised to pre-order the statue as soon as possible. This certainly is a loving tribute to an important character in the world of gaming, and hopefully Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues to properly celebrate Lara Croft’s legacy.
