Blizzard announced a brand new DLC to surprise players during the Hearthstone presentation at BlizzCon 2017, and even included a narrated dungeon crawl afterward. Featuring gems, gold, and scary tunnels, a catchy tune took fans through twist and turns with a musical number. Even a short clip was showcased, revealing a creepy and dungeon-crawl aesthetic for players to experience. Check out the reveal trailer for the Kobolds & Catacombs expansion below:

Featured as a “lover letter to a classic fantasy, dungeon crawl vibe”, Hearthstone’s Kobolds & Catacombs expansion holds in store a “vast underground world” of “countless treasures”. The upcoming DLC introduces a brand new single-player mode revealed alongside called Dungeon Run, and it is a completely FREE experience. No cards are necessary to enjoy, and created with maximum replayability in mind. There will also be legendary weapons such as the Dragon Soul, when a player casts 3 spells within a turn, a 5/5 dragon is summoned.

Drawn by tales of untold riches, you have gathered a party of bold adventurers to find fortune in the catacombs. Now, shadows dance as your torches flicker and you descend into the mines. Just then, a gust of wind snuffs out your light. In the sudden dark, you make out a faint glow ahead, coming closer. An all-too familiar cackle echoes through the gloom.”

Cards such as Marin the Fox will be free for anyone who logs in on Monday and a free golden copy will be granted to those attending BlizzCon or are watching it virtually. Other cards include such ones as Crushing Walls and Gather Your Party. So far, those are the only cards revealed, but there is a total of 135 new cards. Additionally, the new keyword is Recruit.

The Kobolds & Catacombs expansion will become available beginning December 2017 for 49.99 USD. What do you think of the latest Hearthstone addition?
