John Wick TV Series Will Explore More Than Just The Titular Character

The dark and gritty underbelly of the world has been explored by filmmakers for centuries, though no film has really ever looked at the connection between crime syndicates and assassins quite like the John Wick franchise. It’s an intriguing concept worthy of continued exploration, and the John Wick TV series that was announced back in 2017 will be doing just that while also taking a deeper dive into the origin stories of some of the other characters from the franchise.

Everything fans have seen through the films is just going to barely scratch the surface. A post on Twitter sees a small interview with John Wick director Chad Stahelski, who explains that the Continental will take on a different perspective on the world, coming at its story from a variety of different perspectives. Fans will not only be able to see a time where John Wick was in his prime but they’ll be able to see the origin stories of various other characters that were seen throughout the films as well. Stahelski also mentions that while the story that takes place in the films happens within a few days, the TV series will be featuring a very different timeline structure.

There is no release date set for the  John Wick TV series, though it will begin sometime after the release of the now delayed 4th film. Part of what makes the John Wick films so interesting to watch is that fans are left in the dark as to how the world works for the criminal underground. Would seeing a show dedicated to bringing out the inner workings of the Continental be something that you’d like to see or would you prefer to be left to your own imagination?

John Wick Hex was released last year, giving fans a taste of what the franchise could do in the realm of video games.
