Microsoft just released a brand new teaser for next week’s Inside Xbox episode that teases huge news regarding their backward compatibility department. Since the debut of this monthly segment for the console, there’s been plenty of gamers on board and ready to receive insight on first- and third-party games. That applies to older generation and newly released titles as well. As seen below, the video teases players with the old Xbox intro and a caption that reads: “Everything old is new again as Inside Xbox returns on April 20th, 2018.”
Tuning in on Tuesday, April 10th at 6:30 PM (EST) / 3:30 PM (PST) and while the contents of the announcements to come are hush-hush at the moment, there’s promise of big backward compatibility news for the original console. According to the Xbox director of programming, Tina Summerford, bringing titles from the original consoles to modern day is “one of our most common requests”. Plenty of gamers have already taken wild guesses as to what the episode might contain – from Jade Empire, Halo, to Fable, to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.
Last week, the very first episode of Inside Xbox went behind-the-scenes with Rare on the development and launch of their latest video game title, Sea of Thieves.
