Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Reveals Playable Sheikah Hero (VIDEO)

Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity Impa

There have been a lot of intriguing characters introduced to the Legend of Zelda franchise over the years and the Hyrule Warriors series has given fans a chance to play as some of these incredibly powerful fighters. Though the story for the original title was not centered around canon Zelda lore, the upcoming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will change that by entering a world 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and stepping into the shoes of multiple characters – including one of the mysterious Sheikah.

Koei Tecmo showed off some new gameplay for the title during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, giving players a look at the various abilities of characters such as Link and more. One of the playable heroes within Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set to be Impa, who fans may recognize as an iconic NPC from various Legend of Zelda titles such as Breath of the Wild, where she featured as the loyal protector of Zelda, albeit quite aged. In the upcoming Hyrule Warriors title, however, she’ll be much younger and capable of some incredible feats in her own right, with abilities themed around ninjutsu and replicating herself to help give an added edge in battle.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was just revealed earlier this month as a prequel to Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch and has only wowed further with its showcase of several other champions confirmed for the action-packed adventure. It’ll be interesting to see who may end up featuring on the final roster for the title, but the inclusion of Impa is intriguing nonetheless.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on November 20th of this year.
