Hitman Sniper Assassins Mobile Game Announced (VIDEO)
This week, a Square Enix Presents digital event was aired to provide updates for fans on the publisher’s popular franchises’ new games. Among these new announcements were a Life Is Strange Remastered Collection and Black Panther DLC for Marvel’s Avengers. Square Enix has sought to expand its reach with games in recent years by making mobile experiences that utilize franchises such as Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy. Hitman has proven to be one of Square Enix’s most consistent franchises, which has now led to the announcement of a new Hitman mobile game with the current working title of Hitman Sniper Assassins.
Square Enix has released the Hitman Sniper Assassins reveal trailer seen during the Square Enix Presents event on their official YouTube channel. The short trailer simply shows Agent 47 and some other assassins preparing their sniper rifle gear for presumably an assassination job. No gameplay is seen and the only details Square Enix said about the title was that it is a “wholly original Hitman story, with new playable assassins and brand-new gameplay features.” The game is set to release on iOS and Android sometime later this year.
Hitman Sniper Assassins will be developed by Square Enix Montreal, which was also responsible for the Square Enix mobile games Deus Ex Go, Tomb Raider Go, and Hitman Go. They also created a mobile game back in 2015 called Hitman: Sniper that this game is expected to serve as a spiritual successor to. The Montreal studio has found clever ways to bring these iconic Square Enix franchises to mobile platforms, and Sniper Assassins will surely only continue serving their incredible streak of mobile creativity. When it comes to taking big shots, they don’t miss, just like Agent 47 himself.
