Halo Infinite Will Introduce “Never-Before-Seen” Weapons (VIDEO)

Following the game’s delay last year, 343 Industries is still a ways off from releasing Halo Infinite. However, the developer is committing to making the most of it with frequent updates from the project’s team members. Following the studio’s most recent community update, 343 issued a fan Q&A session dedicated to addressing fans’ lingering questions. In doing so, the developer revealed that “never-before-seen” weapons are currently set to grace the upcoming game.

As per the inaugural video in the #Ask343 series, community manager John Junyszek and lead sandbox designer Quinn Delhoyo offered their insight to a handful of fan inquiries. Answering a question about the game’s many expected items, Delhoyo confirmed “never-before-seen weapons” will “definitely” arrive in Halo Infinite sometime after launch, with the new arms rolling out alongside the re-debut of multiple classic and legacy weapons as well.

Halo: Reach

From the very beginning, Halo has always flexed its weapon muscles, with greater gun, armor, and grenade varieties filling players’ inventories as the series’ entries have gone on. However, the confirmation of both classic and returning weapons is sure to be exciting for fans, as it suggests Halo Infinite could potentially feature one of the most robust armories of the series to date, which would be a pretty impressive feat in and of itself.

Halo Infinite has already revealed one of its most prominent items in the form of the grapple shot, and gameplay has shown Master Chief able to use the retractable claw as a long-range grabber as well as a nifty combat tool. While there’s sure to be plenty that fans will be capable of, Delhoyo additionally suggested skilled players may be able to perform some increasingly precise maneuvers, including something as involved as hijacking a Banshee in mid-flight. Halo Infinite is scheduled to release for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S sometime in Fall 2021.
