Grand Theft Auto 6 Needs To ‘Exceed Expectations,’ Says Rockstar
There are few game studios that have formed as impactful of a hold on the video game industry as Rockstar Games, specifically with the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Thanks to the iconic saga’s massive scope and success, Rockstar has earned itself the position of heavily focusing on one main project at a time, while previous games satiate audiences with online components and ongoing content delivery. Many have wondered when the next iteration of the GTA series would get new information after being confirmed in February. Now, it appears Rockstar has dropped a few more lines regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 development.
Rockstar Games recently shared a significant new post on their official website’s blog regarding the online components of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto. The post begins by thanking fans of these online games for their ongoing support and promises a new update for GTA Online coming soon will bring even more content to the service. In regards to Red Dead Online and the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar had this to say:
“Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series — understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be — and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to how we support Red Dead Online.”
While this post does not explicitly refer to the next GTA entry as Grand Theft Auto 6, previous reports have suggested that this should be the case for the new title. While this might seem like a reduction in support for Red Dead Online by Rockstar, the post does specifically mention that there still be more content added to the service, including monthly events and Telegram Missions. Hopefully, though this does mean that the first look at the new GTA game might be coming soon. Whether it’s a return to Vice City or not, it’s surely going to be as hot as Miami on a summer’s day.
