God Of War’s Kratos Was “Never A Misogynist,” Says Creator
It looks like a journalist has landed in a bit of hot water with God of War creator David Jaffe. Apparently, the Kratos we grew to know and fear back in the mid 2000’s was actually a misogynist, something David Jaffe has taken considerable offense toward given that he, well, was the one who created Kratos in the first place.
David Jaffe recently took to Twitter to express his frustration over folks that are continuing to throw inaccurate facts around about Kratos in order to support their pieces on Cory Barlog’s re-imagined God of War. “I must continually state that Kratos was NEVER a misogynist in GOD OF WAR 1,” Jaffe begins. “Like AT ALL. And it pisses me off ‘journalists’ continue to retcon that game in order to justify the thesis of their GOD OF WAR 018 stories.” Full tweet below:

It’s worth noting that discussions such as these would likely not be occurring had it not been for 2018’s God of War and our glimpse at a reasonably ‘better’ Kratos. Still, there’s no room for correcting an issue if there wasn’t one to begin with. Sure, Kratos was a violent mess of a man back in his Greek God killing days, but he didn’t hate women. Unless they were Gods, I suppose.
2018’s God of War is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
