Ghost Recon Wildlands Announces Rainbow Six Siege Crossover (VIDEO)
Recently teasing a new permadeath mode, Ghost Recon Wildlands has a bevy of new content planned for their next Special Operation 2 update, including PvP maps and the introduction of Ghost War challenges. However, as it turns out, this next operation will also add another big crossover event. Following a previous run-in with Splinter Cell‘s Sam Fisher, Wildlands will now be crossing paths with another fellow Tom Clancy franchise in Rainbow Six Siege.
The trailer, which can be viewed below, goes through many of the game’s notable crossovers in the past, presenting them as badges worn by the Wildlands crew. We see several notable references to the likes of the Predator and Splinter Cell‘s Fourth Echelon division. The footage lastly lands on a surprise reveal of the Rainbow Six logo, confirming that another crossover is indeed happening in Ubisoft’s Clancy-verse.
The combination of tactical squads from Ghost Recon Wildlands and Rainbow Six Siege will surely be an awesome and formidable force, begging the question of why they’d even join together in the first place. The counter-question of “why not?” instantly comes to mind, but an in-universe answer alludes fans with only this trailer to draw from. While not much else about the forthcoming update has been revealed, the full scope of this new crossover is scheduled to be fully unveiled on July 23rd. Ghost Recon Wildlands is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
