Ghost Recon Wildlands Battle Royale Mode Launches Today (VIDEO)
While the next Ghost Recon game, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, is only a few short months away, the dedicated fans of Ghost Recon Wildlands are still getting new content updates. This time players will get the chance to try their hand at a Wildlands take on Battle Royale called “Mercenaries”. Check out the trailer right here!
After first viewing the trailer, it’s obvious there are quite a few things here that deviate from the normal Battle Royale formula. The maximum 8-player count is probably the most significant difference. Most games featuring Battle Royale feature high player counts like 60 in Apex Legends or 100 in Fortnite and PUBG. The relatively tiny player count is most likely due to the deliberately slow pace of gameplay compared to those other games.
The goal for each player is to be the first player to reach an extraction point and board a rescue helicopter. Only one player will be able to board the chopper and win the game, though you must find out where it’s going to land first. Transmitters located around the map will give players a good sense of where and when the helicopter will land. Participants in the Mercenaries mode will also receive a Lone Wolf Walker Skin for use in other game modes.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
So what do you think? Will you pickup Wildlands again for one last hurrah in Mercenaries mode before Breakpoint comes out? Are you hoping to see something similar in Ghost Recon Breakpoint?
