Vampyr Nintendo Switch Release Date Set For October

Last Summer, the studio behind the critically-acclaimed series, Life is Strange, launched another series game titled Vampyr. A moody and dark, action-RPG that set itself apart from other games from the developer for three major platforms at the time. For those always on the go and still want to enjoy some personal gaming time, Vampyr is preparing to launch on the Nintendo Switch later this year.

They announced the port last year, but as we pummel toward the end of Summer and soon into the season of falling leaves, Vampyr will make its way to the hybrid console in October 2019. Vampyr gained enough acclaim in the games industry that FOX 21 signed a deal to create a TV series adaptation. On that note, DONTNOD CEO, Oskar Guilbert, mentioned during a press release:

The success of the game, its notoriety and its unique universe allow him today to benefit from numerous opportunities which will contribute to further improve the additional revenues of the game, like the acquisition of the rights for the adaptation of the game in series. TV by FOX21 and the agreement signed with Microsoft allowing VAMPYR to integrate the selection of the Xbox Game Pass, a subscription game system.”

Gaining traction after the success of the Life is Strange series, DONTNOD has certainly made a name for itself in the games industry. Despite the rapid success of all their properties so far, they have more to show to the community. In fact, they’ve signed a second co-production contract with Focus Home Interactive and that could mean a Vampyr sequel or another original title from the duo.
