Final Fantasy VII Remake Concept Art Shows Off Midgar’s Sector 1

Final Fantasy VII Remake Concept Art Shows Off Midgar's Sector 1

We are officially on the breakaway to the March 2020 release of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake, with publisher Square Enix recently having opened the gates to allow fans to test out the game for the first time at various gaming conventions around the world, the latest of which is San Diego Comic Con. Aside from the demo, the publisher has also begun to release concept art for the game, the latest of which was recently released featuring an interesting look at Midgar’s Sector 1.

Revealed over on Square Enix’s official Twitter, the new concept art shows off Midgar’s Sector 1, using the Mako Reactor as a backdrop. “The planet’s Mako energy is extracted by the Mako Reactor (seen in the background) and used to power the city of Midgar,” the Tweet reads. “Alongside this is a closer in-game look at the Reactor itself.” Check out the picture below:

The ill-fated Sector 1 Mako Reactor of course plays an important role in the story of the game, so it makes sense that Square Enix is putting a heavy focus on it, especially given that the Final Fantasy VII Remake is supposed to take place entirely within Midgar. It will be interesting to see what other concept arts gets released in the months leading up to the game’s release date. Maybe we’ll finally get to see how the denizens of the Honey Bee Inn look in glorious HD? Here’s hoping!

Final Fantasy VII Remake releases exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
