Genshin Impact December Update Will Add New Dragonspine Area (VIDEO)

genshin impact mihoyo

miHoYo previously discussed having major updates every six or so weeks in order to keep the Genshin Impact community engaged. As expansive as the world of Genshin Impact currently is, there’s plenty of content that has yet to be explored. Update 1.1 came in November and brought about a new system called City Reputation, new interactions, and promises of varied events to keep the game fresh. In the upcoming December update, miHoYo is adding a new area called Dragonspine. Check out the trailer below:

“This is Dragonspine, an enormous mountain that holds the remains of the venomous dragon, Durin, who fell here after the battle with Dvalin,” read a short description from miHoYo. “Few adventurers dare attempt to conquer this unforgiving environment marked by deep snow, sheer cold, poisonous blood, and monsters. But such things will not dissuade the star-faring Traveler from journeying here.”

In addition to a brand new area, update 1.2 will introduce new yet familiar enemies, ingredients, and mysteries to discover. Make sure you come prepared before embarking on this adventure. Dragonspine is a dangerous, frozen mountain pass with enemies around every corner. Of course, there will be characters and weapons to Wish for and, let’s be real, throw your money at. You can catch a peek at a few items and events at the end of the trailer above – all of which will make their way to Genshin Impact later this month!

Genshin Impact is free-to-play on PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Update 1.2 arrives December 23rd. Stay frosty!
