Genshin Impact 1.4 Trailer Invites Players Back To Mondstadt (VIDEO)

While Genshin Impact players spent the majority of version 1.3 in and around Liyue for the Lantern Rite event, the next major update – version 1.4 – will see players return to Mondstadt just in time for the Windblume Festival. The local celebration of love and life kicks off on March 17, 2021, and will feature some quality time with Mondstadt’s 4* characters, mini-games, the arrival of Rosaria, and more.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo took to YouTube today to unveil the “Invitation of Windblume” trailer for version 1.4. As revealed in the trailer, a notable difference between the Lantern Rite Festival and the Windblume Festival is that players will actually be able to spend time with some of their favorite 4* characters from Mondstadt versus the ‘choose a 4* character for free’ event provided by the Lantern Rite festivities. Also shown in the trailer is various bow-related minigames because, well, Venti’s rerun banner is coming up. The trailer can be seen below:

Halfway through the trailer we are given an official confirmation that Rosaria will be releasing soon as a 4* Cryo Polearm user, something we’ve been expecting since one of the more recent datamines. Additionally, during the trailer we also see the male protagonist square off against an Abyss Herald, which is something of an inevitability ever since this particular type of enemy was mentioned during the Dainsleif “Bough Keeper” quest. We’ll likely learn more in the weeks ahead of the arrival of version 1.4.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, and Android & iOS devices.
