Garrosh Hellscream is Heroes of the Storm’s Next Champion and a Tanky One at That (VIDEO)
Blizzard’s MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) Heroes of the Storm is adding on another World of Warcraft character to the scene and he’s going to be one hell of a tank. Garrosh Hellscream is getting the spotlight this time and, while he may be brutish in strength and size, there are a few weaknesses to take advantage of if you’re on the other team. Check out the video breakdown of his skills and mechanics below:
Garrosh Hellscream’s Abilities
- Groundbreaker
- Deal 81 damage to enemies in an area. Heroes hit on the outer edge are pulled toward Garrosh.
- Bloodthirst
- Deal 156 damage to an enemy and heal for 10% of Garrosh’s missing health. Healing is increased by 100% against Heroes.
- Wrecking Ball
- Throw a nearby enemy Hero, Minion, or Mercenary to that target location, dealing 91 damage to enemies near the impact and slowing them by 30% for 2.5 seconds.
- Warlord’s Challenge (Heroic)
- Silence nearby Heroes and force them to attack Garrosh for 1.5 seconds
- Decimate (Heroic)
- Deal 50 damage to nearby enemies and slow them by 30% for 1.5 seconds. Deals 100% more damage to Heroes, and each Hero hit reduces the cooldown by 1 second. Stores up to 3 charges.
- Armor Up (Trait)
- Garrosh gains 1 armor for every 2% of maximum health missing.
- “As he takes damage, his armor increases in proportion to how much health he is missing. The lower Garrosh’s health, the less he suffers from enemy attacks.”
As for strengths in battle, Garrosh can thrive as a solo tank since his abilities allow for efficient crowd control and combat initiation. Unfortunately, he has no effective peel and lacks mobility. As his health dwindles, there’s very little in hopes of escape unless he has back-up from a healer. Seeing as the Armor Up traits allows armor increase as his HP lowers, it will still be difficult to take him down. Since Garrosh’s play style primarily relies armor rather than health, his biggest weakness are enemy abilities that deal a percentage of health as damage. So, if faced against Maltheal, he’s going to have a bad time.
Garrosh Hellscream should be available to play on Heroes of the Storm soon, according to the official HotS Twitter. For a visual glance at the new champion, check out the profile!
