Forza Motorsport 7 Being Delisted From Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass
After four years of support, it appears that Forza Motorsport 7 has finally reached the end of the road. Announced on the game’s official social media, developer Turn 10 Studios revealed the popular racing title will soon reach its “end of life,” with all post-launch support ending on September 15th. Unfortunately, this means all instances of Forza Motorsport 7 are to be removed from purchase, including the base game, all DLC, and its appearance in Xbox Game Pass.
On September 15th, 2021, #ForzaMotorsport7 will reach End of Life status. This means that the game and its DLC will no longer be available to purchase. For more info, check out our latest blog post: https://t.co/thEYOw0lLQ pic.twitter.com/NF5T8UjihO

As per the game’s official blog, people that own Forza Motorsport 7 and any subsequent DLC will still be able to play the game “as normal,” including multiplayer and other online services. However, matters are a bit more complicated for those who played the game on Xbox Game Pass for console or PC. Fans who purchased DLC for the Game Pass version of FM7 will be granted a download token for the full game through the Xbox message center. Alternatively, players who didn’t purchase DLC prior to the End of Life announcement will have to purchase the full game.
Folks who haven’t revved their engines in Forza Motorsport 7 are still able to do so ahead of its September closure. The base game, various special editions, and DLC are currently discounted on the Microsoft Store up to 75% off. Offering the most vibrant driving sim of the series yet, the FM7 has played host to quite a few licensed DLC packs over the years, notably including the likes of the Fast and the Furious and Halo franchises. An unfortunate side effect means that as these third-party licenses expire, the Forza title will need to be completely delisted from stores.
Not dumb at all! Forza games have to go unlisted after several years because the third party licenses that we use to feature real-world cars, tracks and other elements will begin to expire.

Though Forza Motorsport 7 has sadly reached End of Life, the developers assure there’s still “plenty of racing action to be had” for owners after September 15th. Rivals events were assured to continue, as were future esports competitions. In the meantime, this absence is set to leave fans without a single Forza Motorsport game available for modern platforms, putting pressure on the series’ next game to deliver the goods. While there’s still very little to say on that subject, Turn 10 assures development is still progressing smoothly.
