If games do one thing well it’s bringing people together and a solid community can build new friendships, strengthen old ones, and sometimes even lead to love. There are few things more difficult to deal with than the loss of a friend, and that goes for a gaming community as well. One recently lost a member and the game’s developers decided to commemorate the player in their own special way with the coming For Honor patch.

The For Honor patch notes immediately state that the developers are commemorating a departed member. That person simply dubbed “B” will have a Raider Bot added to the game in his honor. Here is what the developers had to say about the addition:

After reading FatMooch69’s remembrance of his fallen comrade our dev team quickly got behind the idea of immortalizing ‘B’ in the game as a bot. After reaching out for more specifics on the real ‘B’, we named the Bot ‘TheeLizardWizard’ in honor of B’s preferred nickname, and made him a Raider, as he was B’s main. So if you see ‘TheeLizardWizard’ charging at you in the heat of battle, pay him tribute by giving him a good fight!”

Fans often find ways to honor the passing of their friends in game, as was the case not too long ago with Overwatch, and developers have been known to give the fan a nod as well like Monolith Productions honoring of a passing player in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. It is always a touching reminder that these groups mean so much more to people than they appear to on the surface, and to appreciate each other while we can.

The For Honor patch will also include fixes to issues in balance. The Revenge Shield will increase to 120, while the revive time will increase from 3 seconds to 4.
