First Look Inside Mass Effect: Andromeda’s First Comic – Mass Effect Discovery

With the debut of BioWare‘s most anticipated title of the year right around the corner, they also had to surprise fans with the very first comic of Mass Effect: Andromeda. In cooperation with their long-term business partner, Dark Horse Comics, they will be releasing it shortly after Andromeda. According to an exclusive reveal (via Polygon), Mass Effect Discovery will follow the story of a Turian soldier who is part of the Andromeda Initiative – “a private multi-species coalition seeking to travel beyond the Milky Way to the Andromeda galaxy.” The official Dark Horse summary is as follows:

A young Turian military recruit goes undercover in order to infiltrate the mysterious Andromeda Initiative—and ultimately retrieve a scientist who’s made a potentially devastating discovery. Tying in to the highly anticipated release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, writer Jeremy Barlow and artist Gabriel Guzman team up to create the next exciting chapter of the Mass Effect comics series!

There will be a total of five issues, written by Jeremy Barlow and illustrated by Fabriel Guzman and Michael Atiyeh. The first installment will be available beginning April 12, 2017. Check out the cover and one-page teaser below:

It looks as though the Turian soldier is in a tough situation. Having to abandon his squad and seek refuge, he must find a way to survive and report back – even if his honor is in shambles.
