Final Fantasy XIV Reveals First Look At NieR: Automata-Inspired Raid (VIDEO)

With the latest content update for Final Fantasy XIV arriving on October 29, fans of the Square Enix MMORPG are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the NieR: Automata-inspired raid that was announced earlier this year. Launching in the upcoming Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty update, the 24-player raid will send players into the heart of the Copied Factory where they will meet both allies and enemies from the NieR: Automata universe.

The folks at Square Enix have released a brand new trailer for the Final Fantasy XIV update that gives us a first look at what’s in store for the raid. The raid itself was designed with the help of Yoko Taro and Tosuke Saito, the game director and producer for NieR: Automata, so if anything it’ll be true to the NieR universe. Check out the trailer below:

As seen in the trailer, Square Enix gives us a bit of a tour through some of the content coming to Final Fantasy XIV in patch 5.1, while also showing off the character that will be accompanying players on their journey the Copied Factory, 2B lookalike 2P. The publisher also released a description of the Grand Cosmos dungeon: “Long ago, on the far shore of the Source, a great palace was built by the elves─the Grand Cosmos, an edifice of such magnitude it was said to inspire envy in both the heavens for which it was named and the flowers that pervade its boundless gardens. As with so many wonders of the world that once was, its radiance quickly faded in the wake of the Flood, its halls falling silent, the throne sitting empty. That is, until the palace was given new purpose when a mage claimed it as their sanctuary, their only company being solace, solitude, and the legion of familiars barring entrance to any foolish enough to seek an audience.”

Final Fantasy XIV is now available for PC and PlayStation 4.
