Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Update Adds New OST, Multiple Gambit Sets, And More

It looks like the PC and PS4 versions of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are finally getting some much-needed attention. Square Enix announced today that a new update for the game is now live, bringing with it several massive quality of life features and extra content that brings the two platform versions more in-line with the game’s more robust versions for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

Square Enix recently took to its official website to detail what fans can expect from the latest update for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. According to the post, the new update finally allows players to reset their licenses (aka Jobs) within the game. So, if you weren’t particularly thrilled with how Dark Knight/White Mage Vaan turned out (just an example), you can now go to Rabanastre and talk to Montblanc to get the licenses reset.

In addition to the ability to reset licenses, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for PC and PS4 now offers multiple Gambit sets for even greater customization. For those unfamiliar, Gambits are essentially a set of rules that your characters will follow in any given situation. Having multiple sets of these rules will enable players to, for example, have one dedicated Gambit set for farming/grinding and one set specifically for boss fights.

Last but most certainly not least, the latest update also adds the original PS2 game’s OST as a soundtrack option for the game. Per Square Enix, this new option is similar to the PS2 version, “but with higher quality sound and slightly different arrangements for some songs.”

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
