Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer Hints At Upcoming PC Version (VIDEO)
After an incredibly lengthy wait time the Final Fantasy VII Remake has finally arrived, with physical copies now officially trickling out to those that pre-ordered the game. While a significant percentage of those looking forward to the remake will be playing it on the PlayStation 4, there are many still that are waiting for the game to surface on a different platform, though the only currently known hint regarding that is that the remake’s PS4 exclusivity ends exactly one year from today. Now, it has been revealed that one of the more recent trailers for the Final Fantasy VII Remake may be hinting at an upcoming PC version for the game.
Sony and Square Enix recently released a new Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer that contains a ‘launch message’ for fans of the game. Producer Yoshinori Kitase speaks about the team’s excitement for the title finally being released, during which scenes from the game are played out. Here’s the full trailer:
Some eagle-eyed folks may notice that on the bottom of some of the initial scenes that there’s a warning stating “Gameplay captured on PC.” Now, admittedly, this could absolutely not be referring to an upcoming PC version of the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Games are developed on PCs, after all, though it’s also important to note that, for whatever reason, Sony has the “PlayStation 4 Exclusive – Available first on PS4” box sticker plastered onto the top right of the trailer. Not exactly subtle, Sony. Either way, now that the game has been released, it will likely only be a month or two before we get some official news on any upcoming platform ports.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available exclusively on the PlayStation 4. Our review round-up can be viewed right here.
