Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Is A PS5 Exclusive For At Least Six Months

When Square Enix originally announced Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, fans of the popular RPG series were understandably upset. After all, the base game only came out a year ago and already the Japanese publisher is effectively forcing fans to upgrade to a PS5 in order to experience the game’s exciting new Yuffie content. Thankfully it appears that this exclusivity won’t last too long, as it’s been revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will only be a PS5 exclusive for a minimum of 6 months.

The news comes by way of the final trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade that released during Square Enix’s recent live stream event. After the events of the trailer are concluded and it’s revealed that PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake for free, a separate screen comes up that confirms the game’s PS5 exclusivity, listing in fine print that it is “available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format.” While that doesn’t mean that Intergrade will release immediately on PC and Xbox Series X this December, it’s a good bet that Microsoft will try to push for it given that the exclusivity period ends just in time for Holiday 2021. Based on when the exclusivity period does end, we may hear something about an official multi-platform release as early as October or November of this year.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is slated to release on June 10, 2021, exclusively for PS5.
