Far Cry 5 Season Pass Details Revealed – Includes Martian Spiders, Zombies, And More

In just under two months, players will be diving into the expanse terrain of Hope County, Montana in Far Cry 5. Given that the game is being developed and published by Ubisoft, most players waiting for the game have come to expect the optional purchase enhancements for the base game typical of most major Ubisoft titles. A variety of collector’s editions for have been announced, but many have been wondering what kind of DLC would be created. Now, Ubisoft has unveiled the Far Cry 5 season pass with details about its contents, which includes a remaster of a previous game.

Ubisoft announced the contents of the Far Cry 5 season pass, which is included within the Gold Edition ($90) seen in the image above, in a blog post. It seems that instead of DLC that continues the story focused on Hope County in the main game, the pass will consist of three expansions with drastically new settings. Dead Living Zombies will pit the player against hordes of zombies in B movie-like settings, Hours of Darkness will bring the game to the Vietnam War, and Lost on Mars will send Martian arachnids to kill the player on the titular red planet. These are quite big jumps from the grounded American sociopolitical commentary from the main game, but given the ones made before with Far Cry 3’s Blood Dragon DLC, this is relatively in line with the series’ history.

Far Cry 5 Season Pass

As an added bonus for those who purchase the season pass, Ubisoft also announced that Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, a version of its single player content for modern consoles will be included. The Classic Edition will be available as a stand-alone purchase for anyone on PS4 and Xbox One this Summer. These all look like excellent extensions for the upcoming title, and are sure to entice many looking to take this new adventure outside of Montana.

Far Cry 5 is set for release this March, 27th, 2018 for PC, Xbox one, and PS4 at $60. What do you guys think about the Far Cry 5 season pass? Let us know in the comments below!
