Everspace 2 Targeting 4K Visuals On Xbox One X And PS4 Pro
Everspace 2 is shaping up to be a pretty unrecognizable sequel to the first game. The first Everspace was more built like a rogue-like where players would enter progressively more difficult encounters and in a linear run-based format. Everspace 2 will seek to expand in every conceivable way from the previous game by offering players a whole galaxy to take missions and explore in. On top of the grander scale, developer Rockfish Games is seeking to bring AAA-quality visuals to various platforms as well.
In a recent interview with GamingBolt, Rockfish CEO Michael Shade said that his team intends on bringing 4k visuals to both consoles and PC. 4K textures will be supported on Xbox One X, with an option for 1080p 60fps upscaling coming to PlayStation 4 Pro. Regarding the topic Schade had the following to say:
We plan to support 4K as well as an enhanced visual experience in full 1080p with a higher framerate on Xbox One X, like we did in the predecessor…The PS4 Pro is a bit less powerful than the Xbox One X, so we will probably have to slightly reduce the screen size on the regular PS4 model and maybe go a bit easier on VFX on PS4 Pro to support 4K and hit 60 FPS in the visually enhanced mode in 1080p.”
Regardless of how refined and crisp your graphics hardware is though, Everspace 2 looks like an absolute dream for space combat fans. Everspace 2 is currently undergoing funding on Kickstarter and is set to release in Q3 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
