This past week marks the beginning of a new month as well as a new year and 2021 is currently bursting with numerous new games for gamers to play. While the world departs the trash fire that was 2020, this January looks to hold quite a few games to ring in the new year, including such highlights as IO Interactive’s final entry in the Hitman series, the supernatural horror thriller The Medium, and the glorious return of fan-favorite beat-’em-up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.

Though the aforementioned trio is among the highest-profile, the remainder of the month is still peppered with quite a few anticipated releases from the cyberpunk platforming of Cyber Shadow and the dark fantasy of Gods Will Fall to the energetic JRPG stylings of Atelier Ryza 2. There’s also the likes of space shooter Everspace 2 and gorgeous tactics-RPG King Arthur: Knight’s Tale to consider as both are currently set to ender Early Access later in January.

On the DLC side of things, fans can expect several notable games to deliver the goods in January. Dragon Ball FighterZ is unleashing yet another character in the form of Baby Vegeta, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition heading up the upcoming ‘Lords of the West’ expansion, and Microsoft Flight Simulator is set to give the United Kingdom some spiffy new updates. In addition, a large-scale update for Path of Exile is also on the way alongside the first of multiple QoL updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and Diablo 3’s annual Darkening of Tristram event.

Of course, January 2021 has even more games/DLC where that came from. The month ahead is packed with a pile of big releases, all of which can be viewed in the list below.
