Elder Scrolls 6 To Arrive After Two Major Games Release, Bethesda VP Confirms

Elder Scrolls 6

The inevitable release date of Elder Scrolls 6 has been on the minds of many a person ever since the release of TES: Skyrim, though the title’s seemingly endless expansions onto new platforms and the existence of Elder Scrolls Online has certainly done much to hold folks over during the long winter. Now, it appears that we are beginning to receive at least a grasp of the timeline before the game finally arrives. According to Bethesda VP Pete Hines, there are two major games scheduled for development before the team gets to work on Elder Scrolls 6.

This isn’t the first time Hines has stated the above comment, first mentioning the team’s busy schedule last year at E3. That said, he also wasn’t particularly specific in regards to what branch of Bethesda had two more games on its docket before working on Elder Scrolls 6. In a recent set of Tweets the Bethesda VP clarified that he was referring to Bethesda Game Studios, and not Bethesda Softworks. “Cause BGS has two other big games it is going to do first,” Hines said.

Straight and to the point, though the clarification does its job. Bethesda Softworks’ most recent published games have been Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Prey, while Bethesda Game Studios is specifically responsible for both the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.

While fans still have quite a ways to go before any news of Elder Scrolls 6 surfaces, those looking to sate their desire with Skyrim can still find tons of new mods and even full expansions that should hold them over in the meanwhile. Hines also commented on the constant re-releasing of Skyrim, which can be seen in the tweet below:
