With its announcement in 2015, many fans have been patiently awaiting news on the Lordbound mod. The fan-made expansion for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will drops new areas to explore and quests to undertake. All in all, the DLC is promising an additional 15-30 hours of gameplay for adventurers willing to take the dive.

Creators of the Lordbound mod have put a considerable amount of thought into the game, developing a whole new area to play in. “Druadach Valley”, nestled between Skyrim and High Rock, offers a region rife with conflict between Orc factions and the Imperial Legion. The Valley itself serves as the lush backdrop for this new story, with beautiful sprawling dungeons and ruins to explore. Check it out in the new Environment trailer below:

Of course, the Lordbound mod isn’t the first to add a new story to the Skyrim mythos. With mods like Bruma, Falskaar, and Enderal all expanding on the stories and lands of Skyrim, this new mod adds another incredible place to explore on the map. Between Bethesda’s attention to spreading to every console, their not so recent remaster, and fan contributions like this, the world of Skyrim will likely remain alive for some time to come.

Mod DB is expecting the Lordbound mod to release sometime in 2018. Fans, of course, will need the base game in order to enjoy the DLC. However, like most mods of this type, it is free to download and play (though donations are likely welcome).
