Dragon Ball FighterZ: How To Unlock Android 21 And Super Saiyan Blue Goku/Vegeta
Dragon Ball FighterZ looks as though it jumped out of the anime (or manga), with the fighting game sporting some fantastically vibrant visuals that more than often capture the likeness of each character beautifully. While the overall gameplay is also stunning in its own right, another aspect the title begrudgingly portrays with accuracy is the steep difficulty in ascending to the roster’s more powerful fighters. Luckily for everyone, the steps of how to unlock Android 21 as well as the Super Saiyan Blue forms of Goku and Vegeta have now been revealed.
Android 21
First up is Android 21, a Red Ribbon Army scientist who showed her true Majin colors in a recent trailer. Though the character presents herself as a formidable villain in the game’s story mode, the process needed to unlock Android 21 is a relatively simple one.
To bring Android 21 into the roster, players are required to complete Dragon Ball FighterZ’s three-part campaign, which could take around a 20 hours depending on skill. For those in a hurry, much shorter runs can be achieved by skipping cutscenes, foregoing story elements, and defeating each map’s boss from the get-go. Again, how long this takes also depends on one’s fighting prowess and the stat bonuses chosen along the way.
Super Saiyan Blue Goku
As featured throughout the Dragon Ball franchise in recent years, Goku has mastered a powerful transformation called Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, otherwise known as Super Saiyan Blue. The form is an ascended state of the already beastly ‘God’ power level, which should make him one of the toughest fighters in the game, let alone the entire Dragon Ball multiverse.
It should stand to reason that unlocking Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue form would also be an arduous task. It is. Players must first venture into the challenging Arcade Mode and complete the Extreme Gravity Spaceship course. Following this, a “Hard” difficulty is unlocked, and players are again compelled to return to the course for an even more intense bout. If one can dominate this area with an A-Rank, the ‘Blue’ reward will be yours.
Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta
Ever the competitive individual, Vegeta also employs use of the legendary Super Saiyan Blue form. Since the Prince of All Saiyans’ power is often comparative to Goku, as such is the method of adding him to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.
Presenting another Arcade Mode challenge, players must earn an A ranking in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber course on Hard. If this difficulty isn’t yet an option, then the normal version of the course must be beaten to unlock it first.
Of course, much easier ways exist to unlock ultra-powerful characters without a hefty grind. Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta can be purchased through in-game Zeni currency, but also from unlock codes packaged with the “Day One” edition of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Unfortunately, those wanting an easy road to unlock Android 21 will have to do it the old fashioned way. Dragon Ball FighterZ will arrive for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 26th.
