Dragon Ball FighterZ Beta Will Be Extended By 24 Hours
The open beta for Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ has been underway for the last few days, giving fans of the anime (or manga) a chance to open up a can of Kamehamehas as their favorite characters. At least, that was the intention. Many players have instead experienced various network issues while participating in the online test, prompting the publisher to consider extending the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta.
Bandai Namco have now confirmed that they plan to go ahead with an extension, but it won’t take place until after the current beta. A second beta is being planned instead, extending players’ preview of the game for an additional 24 hour period. The exact date of when this separate backup beta will take place is unknown, but they do say it will be announced “soon”.
For clarification, this extension isn't in effect right now. It will take place on a different date so stay tuned for more info #DBFighterzBETA https://t.co/3d8Y4BBdvv

While fighting fans may be disappointed by the delay between betas, it may present a blessing in disguise. This would give Bandai Namco extra time to work out the online kinks that made themselves known in the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta. This would also present a nice opportunity to include more characters in the fist-flying proceedings, allowing for more than the initial 11 playable fighters. We’ll just have to wait and see when the new beta launches, which should be before the full game comes out for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 26.
